How Are Workplace Politics Played? Beyond at HR Cafe

11 May, 2026

As part of the second event in the second round of HR Cafe, Beyond participated once again as an Exclusive Insurance Partner in collaboration with Engage, continuing its presence in one of the most prominent platforms that brings together HR professionals to discuss real workplace challenges in a more interactive and close-to-reality way.

The event took place on Thursday the 23rd at Madkour Academy, as part of a monthly series of HR Cafe sessions that are held every month, creating an ongoing space for discussion and engagement among HR professionals.

This round came under one of the most present topics in modern workplaces:
“Office politics”

During the talk delivered by Ahmed Elshiaty, the concept of workplace politics was explored from a different perspective, away from its traditional negative framing. The session focused on the idea that politics exist everywhere, but the real difference lies in how they are practiced and whether they are guided by clear values or not.

The discussion also highlighted how the same situation can be interpreted differently from one person to another based on their personal value system, and that the issue is not the existence of politics in the workplace itself, but rather the ethical boundaries that govern how they are played within this “professional arena.”

As part of the engagement around the event theme, Beyond introduced the game
“HR Under Pressure”

on stage, an interactive experience based on presenting workplace scenarios and questions related to office politics, with direct participation from the audience in answering and interacting.

The game created a strong sense of energy and engagement among participants, while also opening real discussions about everyday situations faced by HR professionals, and how responses differ from one person to another depending on their mindset and approach at work.

This round also featured the first introduction of the “Match-Up” game, an interactive experience that explores the factors influencing workplace politics, from personality differences and communication styles to varying value systems within teams.

The game helped create a space for discussion and participation in a simple and engaging way, reflecting HR Cafe’s nature as a platform that goes beyond talks and focuses on interactive experiences that encourage real engagement with workplace topics.

Through this participation, Beyond continues to support events that build direct connections with the HR community, delivering experiences that combine interaction, content, and real-life workplace discussions that reflect the dynamics of modern work environments.
